This was a reallly great ride!! We started this run to make it up the MN side of the River but on a gas stop in IA a young lady told us that was a very boring and crappy ride. So we changed our route, which always makes for an interesting ride, (you know...a recon!) and went up the WI side from the bottom.
The roads down here are just as interesting as the upper section of the Missippissi, lots of small towns, locks and dams and very interesting folks.
On this trip it was just after a lot of the rain storms. We saw a lot of storm damage and one house actually slid off the hill side. We don't actually have moutains in Wisconsin but there are some awfull big hills around there.
We stayed at an Americian Inn in Prarie Du Shein that served a compimentary breakfast that was unbelievable: Omlet to order, waffles, biscuts and gravy, fresh fruit and all the rest of the stuff like coffee, milk, juice etc. And the price was outstanding...$0.00. I had thought the price of the room was a bit high at $85 but when you take off what we would have paid for that breakfast, pretty darn cheap!
So, if your in that part of the State, here's a good run!
Note: The first section of this ride between Home and Lodi, about 15 miles is a lot of 15MPH turns thru some real nice farm country.
