This ride starts in Agawam, Ma. and quickly enters Connecticut and takes you off the main road through what I call the Suffield farm / Mansion district. The stretch alongside Barkhamsted Reservoir is the main attraction. As you follow the map you'll see that we turned around a ways up Milo Coe road because it turns into a dirt road for quite a stretch. I wanted to run it on my 77 Shovel but a few folds had bikes that are a whole lot prettier than mine. Next we found Howell's Pong quite by accident but it has a nice little parking spot that easily accomodated the 18 bikes that went on this run. It made a nice little picnic stop but nobody brought food so back out to Rt 20 we went, back through Riverton and out to Rt 8. The stretch along Colebrook Reservoir is a scenic stretch also and there is a boat ramp if you feel like making a photo op stop. Rt 8 is a nice wide, smooth rode but if you keep your eyes open and your speed within reason, you'll spot a watering hole on the left called Tuckers. I can't speak for the lunches but the beer was cold and it's definitely a biker friendly spot. Rt 57 is a nice road back to town and if keilbasa and cheese are on your grocery list you'll be going by the Granville Country store on your way back to the flatland. Enjoy, Turd.
