This is a great day ride. Starting in Boise and running over to Emmett Idaho on Hwy 16 over what is called freeze out hill then on to Payette Idaho and Weiser Idaho. Weiser is the home of a national Old time fiddle festivale the 3rd week of June.
We stop in Weiser for Breakfast then on to Midvale. Dropping off the Midvale hill to Cambrigde and then Hells Canyon.
In the spring you will see fields of yellow wild flowers and the smells are over whelming. Also lots of Big Horn Sheep in the early spring.
Heading west to Brownlee dam and on to Oregon. Lots of Camping in the canyon for those who like to camp.
Continue on to Baker Oregon. Just outside of Bake is the Oregon Trail interpretive center. It is a very fine display of some of the Oregon Trail History.
From Baker we head south on hwy 7 and run some remote high elevation twisties. Great fun but if you're in there early spring watch for the silica sand in the corners. It's white and blends in real well and will tighten your shorts when you hit it.

The Weizer Fiddler's Festival used to be a fun time. Camping right there on the old school grounds and listening and partying with the fiddler's all evening.
Hwy 7 going to or from Baker is great when the traffic is light. The Sumpter are is fun too.

I have been on this route 7 times. Mostly when going to Baker City Rally from Boise. From Valleys to Mountains to Canyons, very good road all the way. Another way is instead of taking Dooley Mt. Pass route is to stay on John Day Highway to Austin then take Highway 7 to Baker. Make sure to stop at Austin Lodge, very cool old lodge. I always stay in Baker then finish the ride the next day.

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
