Start in the motorcycle-friendly town of Carver, MN. Head south of town on County Road 40 which winds through rolling fields of corn, soy beans and cattle. From freshly turned soil in the spring through the light greens of early summer to the golden browns of harvest, the ride is never the same. At about ten miles into the ride, you'll notice that you're heading downhill toward the river. The gentle turns give way to a series of tighter downhill turns. As the river comes in sight, you'll hit a decreasing radius right hand turn that is a lot tighter than you think. I've seen many bikes overshoot and cross the yellow lines. Go easy the first time... if you miss the turn, it's a long way back up to the road from the river.Once you cross Hwy 25, you're back in the farmlands and on a Scenic Highway that leads to Henderson, MN; another motorcycle friendly small town. You can continue south out of Henderson along the Scenic Byway or take a left at the stop sign and enjoy the twisty climb up out of the valley to US 169.

This is my go to route when I need a relaxing ride as I live in the southern metro area and this close to me. I sometimes will follow the scenic byway via Henderson and Le Sueur to St. Peter, MN or just head to Belle Plaine and back on US 169.
