This was a ride put together by the Montana Tumbleweeds Chapter of Women In The Wind. Because we have friends in that area, we were invited to come along on a ride they scheduled just for us. NOW THAT IS THE WAY TO SEE NEW ROADS!! We started at an elevated park that over looks the river they call flag hill because of the huge Americam Flag at the park. This is where they start most of their rides. We started the ride with a nice riverside ride. Then a little short piece along the Vaughn Fronatge road to get out of town to Mt. 200. From there it was a nice rural farm lands ride to US 89, and things started to change to rolling prairie and then some higher elevations, all the while looking at the biggest sky I've ever seen! Eventually making our way back to Mt 200 by way of US 287. A short ride on Mt. 200 , we turn left on MT. 435......but it is called Mt. Hwy 434???.....I call it one of the most beautiful roads in Montana!!! After several miles of rolling hill side, because you are riding the foothills of the rockies, you come to the town of Wolf Creek. This is where it quickly becomes a curvy road that runs parllel to the river and crosses several times, all the while having a rock wall on the other side. This was THE road before I-15, as you ride along near it most of the way. I was feeling sorry for all of those up on the slab as I took in so much beauty!! Although I was told it was also quite scenic up there. I took as many pictures while riding as was safely possible, but Peggy Zeeb, the leader of those Tumbleweeds, was putting that Kawasaki Nomad In The Wind! Eventually getting a little short ride back on the interstate back to Great Falls and Flag Hill, where they also end most rides to say good bye. A great lttle restaurant near the town of Hardy and overlooking the Missouri River is Rosie's Missouri Inn #2474 Old US Highway 91 Cascade, MT 59421. Which also has camping and RV spots available. I would reccomend this little side trip if you are ever staying in Great Falls for a day or two. Let me know if you do and I'll send the Tumblweeds to show you around!!
