Well, this is the route we rode to Mt. Greylock. Route 8 from the highway in CT to Dalton,MA is 1 of my favorite roads. From the second light leaving Winsted,CT to Dalton you usually don't put your feet down, the road flows nicely and the speeds are resonable. Now cutting thru Dalton if you take High St./Gulf Rd. know that Gulf Rd is UNPAVED, as we found out. The roads up and down Mt. Greylock are 25mph twisty and fun with out and SUV infront of you. The views were spectacular, looking down at Adams,Ma or riding thru a cloud, amazing. Thru North Adams (Gas Up) to the Mohawk Trail very smooth twisty road. Bang a right onto 8A run that to 116 to 112, if you need gas at the 116/112 crossover follw 116 take the right general store/gas on the right(the next station open on a Sunday is at the end of 112). Back to 112 follow this all the way to 20. From 20 we ended up running it back to 8, then 8 to CT. If you like to climb mountain roads, or if you like follw the river twisty type road with decent speeds try this is does not disappoint.
