When your driving up the mountain you will see Mt Baker ski Lodge on the left, that's not the end. Kepp going up until you can't go any further. The road will stop at the top at a place called artist point.
There are switch backs, twistys and limited site distance in places so watch out. I would recomend getting you food and beverages at or around Kendell or Maple falls. After that there is no place to get food or gas as far as I remember. If you fill up at one of those places you will make it up there and back with no problem.
