This is really a terrific day trip for motorcylists in northeast Florida. The ride along A-1A north of Jacksonville is just beautiful and Fernandina Beach is a great place to spend the day. There are plenty of shops and restaurants, and often during the year there are special events like the Fernandina Beach Shrimp Festival or art shows in the downtown area. From there you can take a straight shot across to A-1A to Callahan before catching 301 South back to Normandy Boulevard. That way you avoid the north side of Jacksonville and all the traffic involved. Pick a nice day and give it a shot. It's worth the ride!
