Ozarks 2010 Day 3

Had planned on riding farther West into NW arkansas and on into Oklahoma, but nasty weather heading our way so we road south. S on 23 (the Pig Trail did not disappoint!) picked up 309 south a few miles out of Ozark. lunch atop Mount Magazine at the lodge (good food, excellent service, gorgeous view,reasonable prices). 10 East to Danville, then 27 south to Mt Ida. still early in the afternoon and not wanting to get in to Hot Springs too early, we headed W on 270 then W on 88. We took county road 67 south at Cherry Hill... navigational error on my part... if you look at the satellite image of this road, you can see the unpaved portion of this road, but you can't see the two 50 yard sections of six inch deep large gravel or the two plank bridges... took some grief from the team, but managed to reach hwy 8 and head back east, then 27 N back to Mt Ida and on in to Hot Springs on 270. Comfort Inn on Hwy 7 for night #3.
