I started in Federal Way but the real ride starts on Highway 101 By Olympia. Take I-5 to Exit 104 and follow the signs North towards Shelton. That will get you on Highway 101 and that's the road you'll stay on for most of the trip. The highway was country setting with very little traffic. 60 miles an hour for the most part. I stopped for gas in Sequim and ate lunch. Leaving Sequim the road gets quite wavy. Lots of turns. The average speed is 35 to 45 with some small stretches of 50 to 60 miles per hour. You wind through The Hills by the Bay and buy a couple of lakes. It's really beautiful a lot of fun! I stopped for the night in Forks. Then I headed south on 101 and stop in Amanda park for gas. All these gas stops are pretty close to a hundred and fifty miles apart. From Amanda Park I travel South with lots of Scenic views of the ocean and many places to go off road and look at the Olympic National Forest. I got gas again in Aberdeen then headed south down the coast. The road opened up quite a bit and there wasn't as many turns and twists. I ended up in Astoria Oregon. I spent the night there and got gas. There's a lot of nice restaurants there and hotel I stayed at was right on the water and it was called Astoria Riverwalk inn. They had real good prices...! From there I took Highway 30 and cross the river into Longview Washington. I got on I-5 and headed north stopping for gas in Centralia and having lunch. From there I continued North and ended up back at my starting place in Federal Way. The whole trip including the little bit of running around in town that I did ended up being 600 miles. I was riding 5 to 6 hours a day and really enjoying it! This would be a great ride in the spring summer or early fall. I Road at Thanksgiving and it was rainy for two days out of the three. But it was still a beautiful ride! Enjoy!
