This was a fun road we stumbled across just north of St Louis, MI (just east of Alma. It is a good scenic route to take of you are going up to the Midland - Bay City - Saginaw.Part of this is freshly paved and part is a little bumpy, but it is a fun and beutiful road. The map doesn't show it, but for the most part, the road follows the Pine River (hence the name) and would make for some good photo stops, if you can force yourself to stop...

Great road in beautiful country setting. In early Spring, when I went down it, the flowering trees were bursting with color.
The first part of the road out of St. Louis is really frost heaved and very bumpy now. In about 3 miles it gets better.
Well worth a day ride. Thanks BigTodd.
I agree with tslaz. 4.3 out of 5. My reason isn't the speed limit though. Its the frost heaved road at the beginning that brings this one down. (I'm old and ride a Ultra. Need I say more)?

Why do you think I live in St. Louis? one of the best roads in central michigan. y real rating is 4.3 stars. It would get a 5 star rating if it weren't limited to 45mph (lot of winter deaths on the road before the speed limit, and some after) and a little bit better scenery.

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
