The Rattlesnake is the ONLY route located in Kentucky that has been officially named by the State of Kentucky Legislators. Located just north of the Tennessee border and west of I75, the Rattlesnake winds through the foothills of Daniel Boone National Forest from London to Somerset Kentucky. Begins at the intersection of 192 and 1193 in London and continues to 914 Bypass and Highway 192 in Somerset. In addition to the twists and turns, visitors will observe a couple of waterways through the Daniel Boone National Forest: Kentucky River at Bee Rock as well as Buck Creek. Visitors can expect to see wildlife that habitat the Forest and the beautiful views that the foothills of Kentucky provide, along with visuals of yester-year life. Although there are several twists and turns, there are a few straight-a-ways that many enjoy as well. The Souvenir Shack at the Brake on the Snake (8855 Highway 192, Somerset, KY) is a must, located in the "middle of nowhere", provides for riders and drivers to do just that... take a break, stretch your legs, use bathroom facilities, and of course, get some souvenirs and gifts. It's a place where several get themselves refreshments and enjoyed a visit on the porch.
