Rolling Thunder 2005
Rolling Thunder is an annual motorcycle event held every Memorial Day weekend in honor of our country's veterans and POW/MIA soldiers. Every biker should try to ride in Rolling Thunder at least once in their lifetime just to experience the honor, priviledge and pride of doing so.

My wife and I rode in Rolling Thunder 2005, and it was an amazing day for us. We met our fellow bikers at the Frederick Harley Davidson store in Frederick, MD and were provided with a police escort all the way to Washington, D.C. The main highway (I-270) was closed to all cars as we rode in the procession. This was a scene played out all over the DC area that day as bikers decended on our nation's capital from all parts of the nation.

The sights and sounds were amazing as you will see in the photos below.

Enjoy!!

Meeting up with fellow bikers at May's Restaurant prior to arriving at the Frederick Harley Davidson.

The crowd is starting to grow prior to the ride.....

This annual event is open to all makes and types of bikes....

The group pulled to the side of the road on the way down to allow for police officers to clear the highway of all cars....

The majority of the group continued the ride to the Pentagon while my non-veteran group split off into Washington, DC and found a spot to park and watch the upcoming parade along Consitution Ave.

Here we are in front of the Washington Monument...

and in front of the White House...

Constitution Avenue has been cleared for the parade....

and here it comes!

and the bikes just keep coming and coming....

Of course there were a number of personalities that stood out!

Even the dogs can get in on the act!

That's all folks!!
