Just returned from the 'Mother Road'Montreal to Santa Monica.16 days alone on the road, wonderful scenery, extraordinary people, great food!Forget bringing extra fuel.My VTX 1800 goes about 160 miles on a tank and with my GPS I could ALWAYS find gas.Motels can be found at an average of $40-$50.00 a night and the average price of unleaded regular was $2.50.I used a GPS, Road maps (free at visitor centers) and the 'Here It Is! The Route 66 Map Series' by Jim Ross; Jerry McClanahan.I really believe I rode about 85% of the Mother Road.If you ever wanted to do it...go for it. Totally worth the experience.I did it in October, so I brought plenty of warm clothes.I went trough deserts(over 98 degrees), mountains (low 50's) and even a little bit of hail in the beginning.Make sure to keep your camera near by and enjoy!

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
