Nice flat ride east on Rt 24 from Peoria to Chenoa where you'll pick-up the historic Rt 66 and head north. Stop in Odell, Il and see the restored Standard gas station where you can rest on provided picnic tables. Continue north on 66 to Dwight where there's another restored Texaco gas station. Both stations were built in the 1930s and are in immaculate condition! Plenty of places along the way to eat/rest or get gas.
