After nearly 20 years, we've decided to close our doors on August 11th and pursue our next grand adventure. The growth of this site and community surpassed our wildest expectations. A 5am start time, and 13 tanks of gas later, rode home at 1:15am. The route is a little off, since the road maps are old. There is a bypass of Rapid City that is not represented well here. Long day for a cruiser...Not a terrible ride, but it would have been nice to actually see something other than road construction and freeway. The area around Mt. Rushmore is great. I wish I could have ridden around the area, or at least taken the old Hwy 16 route in from the southeast. Gas mileage was in the mid 30's, which was lower than I expected. Strong headwinds on the way out really slowed the pace.I'll do it again someday.
