After nearly 20 years, we've decided to close our doors on August 11th and pursue our next grand adventure. The growth of this site and community surpassed our wildest expectations. This route we (three bikes) did as an Iron Butt Saddle Sore 1000 ride (1000 miles in less than 24 hours). We started at 5:00 am on a Sunday and finished at 9:02 pm that night. It took us 18 hours and 2 minutes to complete this ride. Total GPS miles were 1054 (odometer miles were 1100). All of our stops were short gas/walk around/get our receipts for documentation/and go (except for lunch). Another reason for choosing this route was we wanted to stop in Kansas City long enough to eat at Arthur Bryant's BBQ for lunch. (Probably not a good idea for the middle of an Iron Butt ride, but it was worth it!). It was a great ride with good friends and we had good weather all the way.
