This is a fantastic day trip! Lots of fresh air from the lake, scenic highways, and rolling hills. Plan an entire day for this trip. Sleeping Bear Dunes is beautiful! Once you're in the Traverse City area, there many local shops and dining facilities to explore.

My personal favorite road in Michigan (so far)! Lots of curves, both tight and sweeping, and elevation changes. Pavement is mostly exelent too. The streatch from Leeland to Northport is not to be missed if you like curves. Include this route as part of a trip along Lake Michigan, and you've got an awesome multi-day ride!

This is a great ride. We took it last year, and had a wonderful time. We left Traverse City, and went to Manistee. We wanted to take a trip to the Sleeping Bear Dunes, but never found the entrance to the park. The road is great as long as you can avoid getting behind some very slow cagers. We had 4 bikes on our trip, and enjoyed every minute. I knocked it down 1 star just because we got behind some very slow people in their cars. A must do ride.

I will have to agree with demans, this is a FANTASTIC ride if it weren't for the slow cagers you can run into. I rode it last year with a group of 4 bikes and we had a great time!!
