This is an annual trip we make each year. We rent a cabin in Mammoth Lakes and several of us riders (and a support van) make the trek to Yosemite but staying in Mammoth Lakes area. The ride described above starts in Simi Valley and makes a direct run up the 395 to Bishop and then over to Mammoth Lakes. If you don't like heat, you may want to avoid this run in the summer as the Mojave can get well into the hundreds. The run to Bishop is best described as open plains, desert like with portions of Joshua Tree groves. Once you get to Bishop and further north, the terrain is more wooded and Sierra pines.
First full day is spent riding into Yosemite to the Valley floor, looping around and then heading up to Glacier Point. We usually spend an hour+ at the top walking around, enjoying the views and getting a snack from the snack bar. Afterwards, we head back to Mammoth Lakes for dinner.
Second day, head up to June Lakes for breakfast taking the loop then back to Mammoth Lakes with an option of either hiking the short distance to Devil's Postpile, and/or riding around Horseshoe Lake, Lake George and Lake Mary.
Caution! Go too early, or go to late in the year and you'll have to endure snow and road closures. This ride is best doen in the fall before winter storms hit.

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
