Awesome ride, pretty much has everything I want in a ride. The only thing I did different is taking powell instead of hayman. Definetly gonna ride this one again.

For this area of central Florida, this ride is above average, with some rolling hills, and sweeping curves. You have to go further north to get a better ride.

yes yes and yes! just about as good as it gets in FL. the Istachatta General store is now called The Blue Canoe. i havent eaten there but read internet reviews about great food and REAL sausage gravy! sounds like a destination to me

Nice ride - the roads are relatively easy to find and nicely marked. S. Istachatta Rd. was a great stretch of road...never did see the General Store though. We stopped at Sleepy Hollow for lunch...the food was average. The place def has a rough neck biker bar atmosphere...thinking it can get very rowdy come night fall...

Awesome route, can't ask for much better in Florida. One thing to note though; when in Citrus County and the curves are marked with a 25 mph speed limit; if you're on a cruiser, best stay close to that speed, they aren't like the curves in Pinellas and Pasco County that you can take at double the posted speed.
Also, if you're in the mood to keep on riding after reaching the Sleepy hollow bar, you can also hit the Ozello trail by staying North on CR 39 and taking a right onto US 41 until it turns into 44 and then take a left onto US 98/19 and the Ozello trail will be a few miles down on the right. Eat at Pecks at the end of trail, nice extension of an already great ride.
