You could really make a nice weekend out of this route. There are lots of scenic stops, even camping, interesting sights, and secluded B&Bs. It winds through canyons, rolling farm and grazing land, along coastal cliffs, beaches, and bays, the Russian River, through redwoods, and various wine country appellations. Along the coast from Pt. Reyes Station to Jenner are oyster bars, and fresh seafood restaurants. Burger joints abound.Of course, the usual precautions should be taken. Be alert for police radar, traffic, debris in canyons, deer, and pothole surprises.
