Southwestern LoopThis was our vacation run down the coast from Washington, Oregon and California before we turned inland. The scenery through Oregon and California was coastal and wooded with lots of sweeping curves until we turned off of hwy#101 onto hwy#1. This has some of the most scenic coastal roads along the ocean. Word of 'CAUTION' on hwy #1 there is allot of switchbacks and curves and twisty's. When the signs say 15 and 20 mph, they mean it. But the mad twisty were a blast. Fuel often because gas stations are far between. Gage your distance as well. Lodging is pretty spread out.

After leaving California thru Nevada via Lake Tahoe and Carson City and across the Salt flats into Utah the roads are sweeping hi country desert with allot to see. Don't freak out going across the salt flats. I thought it was cooler than the other parts of the desert that we had driven through.



Riding through the Wasatch and Cache mountains was awe inspiring and almost hard to put into words, it's best to see them for you. If you like buffalo steaks and good food hit Madocks in Bringham for a great meal.



The rest of the trip was pretty much high country desert and hot. Utah does have liquor stores. Drive safe and watch for the critters.
