After nearly 20 years, we've decided to close our doors on August 11th and pursue our next grand adventure. The growth of this site and community surpassed our wildest expectations. This was part of a 14 day trip we did 5/1910 thru 06/02/10. I wated to post this road seperate from the trip so that it was easy to find for those just searching WV roads.
We started that morning from Marietta, Oh. jsut about 15 miles south. You cross the river and pass thru St. Mary's. Just when I would think that I was ready for long sweepers...they would come...tight twisties & swtchbacks...there they would be.....down into the valley to some open scenery?....once again it just kept changing with great riding and some great scenic views!
We did leavce SR 16 for a look at Kanawha Falls, just south of Gauley Bridge on US 60. Then we jumped off again at the US 60/SR 16 split. We went US 60 over to Hico to visit the New River Gorge Bridge. Then back on SR 16.
