The first stop is in Chicago, stayed at a cheap dump called The Heart of Chicago. Nothing fancy but you can park your bike in front of your door which is an important feature in downtown. The second city I visited was Milwaukee, visited the Harley Museum. The next overnight stop was just outside of Green Bay in a town called DePere. Stayed at a really clean fancy hotel right on the Fox river, roughly $106 a night. A nice little town with good eats and plenty to do in the evening. The next part of the journey goes through hundreds of miles of national forest,a very scenic area with plenty of cool little spots to stop and view.We stopped at Chute pond for a cold beverage and a look at the waterfall, saw lots of people fishing so bring a rod! Many points of interest along this route. Next overnight was in Ashland,Wisconsin. Stayed at a little motel facing Lake Superior, plenty of hotels in the area and lots of sights to see. The next leg was a little boring, piss poor routing on my part but I was doing it on the fly with only 5 days and a looming deadline at home. With a little research this part could take you through National forest down to the Great River Road. The next leg was down 35,The Great River Road.So many things to see here.Be sure to visit Pikes Peak State park and any scenic pullout you come across. We over nighted in Winona, Minn, a pretty good size town with great river views.Great hotel for $126,The Stony Creek, with pool,spa,sauna..an awesome place to unwind! There are alot of adjacent roads to venture onto including Arcadia that have great twistys and views..ask other bikers. One road you don't want to miss is south of Guttenberg,C9Y...great hills, twistys. We had hoped to journey the River Road into Illinois but time restraints had us needing interstate travel...next time! The Stony Creek101 18th St.Moline, IL 61265Phone: 309-743-0101Chateau De PerePhone: 920.347.0007201 James St.De Pere, Wisconsin 54115
