This ride is more of a relaxing loop than antyhing else so enjoy.Start out at the gas station where Mountain Creek Rd. and Signal Mountain Blvd meet. Take a right out of the parking lot onto Signal Mountain Blvd, then turn left onto Cherokee Trail (Suck Creek Rd.)Suck Creek Rd. starts off being a very straight road that runs along the river. Pretty soon you will be at the foot of the mountain starting your ascent. The mountain road is a little curvy but not too bad. once you reach the top and start down the other side it seems very similar as the trip up until you get a little closer to the bottom where there are a few switch backs. As you come off the bottom of the Suck Creek Mountain the road will straighten back out again. There is a little gas station off the right side that you can stop and take a little break at.Turn right at Powells Crossroads onto Alvin C. York Hwy (East Valley rd.). This is a gently winding small country road. You will be in a valley so you can see mountains off to each side of you as you ride. Just follow this road until you come to the intersection of East Valley Rd. and Taft Highway. Take a right onto Taft highway. Taft Highway will run you straight up the back side of Signal Mountain. this road is full of sweeping curves. Keep an eye out on the right side as you get closer to the top as there is a little pull off there with an over look and wooden stairs to walk down to a vieweing platform (really nice on a clear day). Keep following Taft Highway across Signal Mountain and be mindful of the speed limits once you reach the community on top of the mountain. Eventually you will wind up back at the gas station where you began the trip. This is just a great little 'get out of the house for an hour or so' trip.
