John and I usually prefer to avoid the interstate, sticking to the "back roads", but on this trip, we had to take the shortest route. I was suppose to help make a presentation with my professor and 4 other students at 1pm and 6pm.

All was going well until we came in to Kenner, La. Suddenly John took and unexpected exit and much to my chagrin it was because we had a tire going flat.

John's bike is still under warranty so we called the local HD shop (which is the same one he purchased the bike from)but they were not able to get to it that day. I googled bike shops and found one just around the corner from where we were stranded.

We had the bike towed to Mike Katz' garage and they saved the day. I would recommend this company for all your repair needs. The staff was friendly and courteous. They stopped what they were doing to get the tire changed and get us on our way to the conference. Great folks!!!

I would recommend a different route for leisure rides. We usually take a longer but more scenic route when travelling to New Orleans. We take I49 to Lafayette and then continue onto HWY 90 which takes you through Morgan City and Houma. Right after passing through Des Allemandes, La you can take HWY 310 to I10.

WARNING: New Orleans is not a very "bike friendly" city. Parking is almost impossible to find as most of the parking garages/lots have "No Motorcycle" signs posted. Unless you are staying at a hotel with a parking garage, it is hard to find somewhere to park.

On our return trip, we stopped in Morgan City to participate in a bike run benefiting the wife of a fellow biker who lost his battle with cancer. John was able to catch up with old friends and the run was a tremendous success.

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
