Great ride. Although short, it compares with the 'dragon' with # of curves per mile. Some local bikers call this the 'rattlesnake'?? The road is usually lightly traveled, except on weekends, and you may meet only one or two cars.
I have ridden it several times on bikes from nighthawks to GL1200's but am far from expert.
What I like about the road is that it connects with the, scenic, Land Between the Lakes area as well as the Dover / Bumpus Mills / Big Rock / hwy 120 areas.
Going south from McKinnon; the road loops towards Waverly and then curls back north to Tennessee Ridge... a beautiful alternate.
At Tennessee Ridge you can take the old Waverly road, SE to Hwy 13. This leg is not always smooth but has many curves and a one lane bridge in a 90 degree curve that may provide a thrill (if it sneaks up on you); as the alternate is a drop to the creek.

I did this ride a few weeks ago, early October. I am a new rider and thought it was great. Not much to compare it to though, but it was great for me. I rode south, turned around and went back up, then went back down again. Stopped at Fat Daddy's for a burger and beer, about 1/4 of the way down on the right. Back in about 2 miles on Kentucky Lake. Nice ride, short but sweet.
