What can I say, this is a trip packed with so many things to see and do it is hard to name them all. The wind generator fields outside of Abeline lead to Sweetwater, a quaint country town and good place to spend the first night. The next morning head on out to Balmorhea to he state park and see a lake you can look down into and see the bottom in!Good swimming and even scuba diving if you are certified. Spend the nite in Alpine and rest up for touring Big Bend Area the next day, and plan on it being the whole day! Take your camera everywhere you go also. Spend nite 3 on Ft Stockton and enjoy a fine dinner at some of the best steak places around. Off to Fredricksburg in the morning for a great stop for food shopping and places of intrest. Don't forget Lukenbach on the way to Johnson City. Oh yeah, Visit former President Lyndon B.Johnsons ranch between Fredricksburg and Johnson City, Its on the Highway and east to get to.Johnson City is a good place to spend the 4th nite and rest up for the Hill Country the next day. Eat breakfast in Marble Falls at the Bluebonnet Cafe, this is a cant miss stop! The choices are limitless now, Inks Lake, Longhorn Caverns, Lake Buchannan, Enchanted Rock, so much to see and do you will want to spend the nite in Burnet and make 2 days of this area. On day 6 or 7 you can head back north to the metroplex via 281, not too buisy and good stops along the way.
