Knightstown,Indiana is an old historic town with a cool main street to start out from. Bikers usually can link up at one of the local gas stations or right on main street itself. This ride is an enjoyable one through the farm lands and plains of Indiana. The further south you go the terrain changes to rolling hills. Coming into Madison the Ohio River can be breath taking, especially in the fall. Stop in at Shipley's Tavern and have a great burger to get you through the rest of the day. This tavern has history and a great place to take a breather and eat. It's located at 322 West Street. While in Madison go now by the river to the board walk and enjoy the view. Great place to take photos. As you depart Madison and continue heading East on SR 56 this is a scenic route. You will truly enjoy this stretch of the road.On the East end of Lawrenceburg you will have to keep your eye open for the SR1 sign.Once you are headed back North on SR 1 the road is curving and with the trees and curves makes a good ride. You work your way back North to Hwy US 40 and back into Knightstown. For me this is one of them rides that by the end of the day you are tired but in a good way, but I enjoyed every minute of it.This entire route is mainly two lane roads except for US 40.Follow the map and you can't go wrong. There are plenty of places to stop and grab a drink and take a break if need be.This is a long day, but would be very easy to make this an overnight trip.Enjoy the ride!!!!
