We did this ride in 2011 on our 19 day 7000km trip to Sturgis.
We left Steamboat Springs in the morning after a great night staying at the Rabbit ears motel (very clean and value for money). Beautiful scenic ride up the mountain with lots of 4 legged friends grazing along the road side. Make sure you rug up as it was extremely cold and very windy up the top. Amazing that there was snow on the roadside right beside us ( we live in Sunny Queensland). Some places didn't have any barrier rails along the side, so it was definatly don't look down there! Over all a great ride. I had my go pro on and got some amazing photos.
We stayed overnight at Estes Park at the Elk Horn Lodge, well, that was an experience! I don't think it has anything done to it since Tonto was a lad! It was like a step back in time! Oh well, a bottle or two of wine and we had fun! Us girls went for a horse ride in the afternoon as soon as we got there as it has stables next door.

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
