Trip from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon and back. Looking for cooler weather during the summer here in Phoenix and we found it at the Grand Canyon. First day of the trip took us through twisting roads leading from Yarnell to the historic town of Prescott. From there we continued on to Jerome and into Cottonwood. After a quick breather we continued on to the Red Rocks of Sedona. Then a nice tree lined ride into Flagstaff where we stopped for the night. The next day got an early start and rode to Cameron trading post. Got some snacks and then continued on into the Grand Canyon through the east gate. Kind of expensive entrance fee to the Grand Canyon for motorcycles, $25 for each vehicle. While going through the Canyon it hailed on us for a short period of time in the month of May. Make sure you bring both warm and cold gear cuz the weather can change on a dime. We exited through the west gate and continued down to the city of Bedrock at the Hwy 64 and 180 junction. Interesting but not really worth the time. Spent the second night in Flagstaff again and then made the ride back to Phoenix. We took the 17 this time as we were trying to beat a storm. Very enjoyable ride.
