We started at the Hotel right at the Villa Linda mall.We stopped and had breakfast at the Horsemans Haven(The Hottest Green Chile Ever)We than headed south towards the end of Santa Fe taking RT14 to Madrid(pronounced MAD DRID)You will pass the old prison on your right, famous for the deadly riot back in the 70s and also the prison they used for the movie THE LONGEST YARD with Adam Sandler. Its pretty much an open road for awhile and then starts to get curvy right before you get to cerrilos. You then want tomake at right at the town of Cerrilos(this is were they made the movie Young Guns)Cool little town. Now get back onto route14 and head south.this is were is gets curvy. You willthen reach Madrid. At the North side of town is the old Ballpark where the Miners played back in the 40s.This town was abandon until the 70s and is now is loaded with artists and lots of shops. At the south end of town is the Mineshaft Tavern.A must stop and have a beer on the porch. The food is great too(Green Chile Cheeseburgers, yum)Checkout the WEB because they have 4 Blues festivals every summer at the Ballpark, and the bands are very good. You can then head back to Santa Fe if you have plans(10,000 Waves for a Massage and Hot Tub is my favorite)Or you can continue south down RT14 and that will run into I-40 just east of Albquerque.
