This is a great day trip that starts at Okemo Mountain, near Ludlow VT and does a counterclockwise loop through the State with a brief jump over Lower Lake Champlain into New York and then back to Ludlow.
The trip begins with a nice warmup ride north on Route 100. This is a very scenic road with nice sweeping turns and plenty of places to stop along the way. At Irasville, the real fun begins as you turn west onto State Road 17. Route 17 is touted as the best motorcycle road in New England and it definitely lives up to the reputation. The only warning I have for you is that you may enjoy this part of the trip so much that you may double back and ride it over and over again.
The trip alternates between mountain and farm sceneries. While we did this loop during the summer, I would recommend doing the trip during the early fall foliage season.

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
