This ride was a Sunday afternoon 'picnic ride' to Stone Park in Sioux City, IA, and back. Going North, take the scenic Loess Hills byways; an absolute joy to ride in. Returning South, one can take historic 'Lewis and Clark' scenic byway (HWY 75) from Sioux City to Omaha. Crossing into Iowa is easy and free in Blair, NE; in Decatur an approximately $0.75 toll is required to cross the bridge towards Onawa, IA. A nice place to stay for the night can be found after crossing into Iowa in Decatur at 'Blue Lake,' in Lewis and Clark State Park. For a really laid back, leisurely ride, soaking in the sights and sounds in the Loess Hills (IA), allow up to 5-6 hours for this loop; can be started/ended in Omaha, NE.

LongRanger says:
Not a bad little route, and the scenery is pleasant, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. The roads are mostly straight and flat, though there are periodic sections with linked curves (posted at 40 mph). If you're not on a Harley, you'll have no problem taking them at 70+ mph. My biggest problem with this route, however, is the quality of the pavement: Concrete slab, with constant expansion joints. I got hammered when I rode it.
