This is a great scenic ride, my starting point is in Medford, Oregon, head south on I-5 to Yreka, CA. then head south on CA hwy 3 to Weaverville, you should be able to reach Weaverville on one tank of gas, there is gas along this route. The ride from Weaverville to Eureka is along CA hwy299 which follows the Klamath River. We spent the night in Eureka and left for Crescent City in the morning following US Hwy 101 north. The ride through the redwoods is awesome and visiting Crescent City, CA is nice, make sure you do the scenic drive through Crescent City. Then it's north on 101 to hwy 199 north and the ride up the Smith River Canyon, from there it is about 2 hours to Grants Pass and back to Medford.
