This is a great route to get out there and see the rest of Texas, Wide open vistas greet you and the open sky will have you experiencing emotions that only a motorcyclist can understand. From the canyon lands to the rolling shallow foothills of New Mexico to the Hill Country in south central Texas, it's all there for you. I have enjoyed this trip as a solo run 4 times. The only thing about solo is, you better like the person in the helmet with you. There is plenty of time to blow away any troubles you might be having or make any plans that need planning. Depending on the time of year, carry some water with you, sometimes it gets pretty hot and the intervals can become sparse, but never so as to empty a tank before a filling station appears. If you see a roadside dive advertising burgers or chicken fried steak, stop, chances are you will be very happy you did! I don't often eat at the same places and I have yet to have a bad meal on this trip. Get out there, ride hard, live free and be safe. There is always the next ride.
